Perthshire Chamber of Commerce (PCC) is an independent, non-profit making, non-political business membership organisation. Its focus is on championing the issues that matter to its members, helping promote and protect the interests of local businesses, and ensuring the economic future for the communities of Perthshire.

Perthshire Chamber caters for all sizes, from sole traders up to some of the area’s largest international employers, for all sectors, and from start-ups to those already well established including both rural and urban. Perthshire Chamber is the local part of Scottish Chambers of Commerce, Scotland’s largest and most influential business-to-business network.


Federation of Small Businesses

FSB is the UK’s largest grassroots business campaigning group, which ensures the voice of small business is heard at the highest level across the UK. It provides multiple business services and products to its members including a legal protection scheme, PR and crisis management, cyber protection, debt recovery and health and safety advice.

Skills Development Scotland is the national skills body supporting the people and businesses of Scotland to develop and apply their skills.  

It contributes to Scotland’s sustainable economic growth by supporting people and businesses to develop and apply their skills. Working with partners to provide services that deliver the very best outcomes for Scotland’s people, businesses and the economy, SDS supports individuals to build their career management, work-based and employability skills, throughout their career journey, from school, into further learning opportunities and employment.

Working with employers and employer groups on a national, sectoral, regional, local and individual basis, SDS aims to support organisations, helping them to recognise and articulate their current and future skills needs, and to engage with the skills system to help ensure it better meets those needs in the short, medium and longer term.

Developing the Young Workforce Tay Cities

Developing the Young Workforce Tay Cities is one of several regional DYW groups across Scotland. It helps implement the Scottish Government DYW strategy and the Young Person’s Guarantee, with the aim of helping young people get the right skills and experiences to move from education into employment, and to ensure that every young person has the chance of training, an apprenticeship or a job when they leave education. 

Partnering with employers throughout the region it delivers on the following services: 

  • Careers fairs
  • Work site visits
  • Motivational talks
  • Business and enterprise challenges
  • Mentoring
  • Work placements
  • Apprenticeships

DYW also works with Skills Development Scotland (see above) and Founders4Schools.co.uk


Perth College UHI

Perth College UHI works closely with employers at a local and national level to ensure that all courses provide the most current knowledge and skills required in the workplace.

One of their key purposes is to support and develop the regional workforce of our industry and stakeholder partners, positively influencing the business competitiveness and productivity of customers across the Tay Cities region. The philosophy within UHI Perth and the Business Engagement Team is quite simply to work with industry to support the needs of the business and employees.

UHI Perth also works to ensure students can undertake work placements, providing a valuable insight into the real world of work. Volunteering is also integral in the curriculum area and all students are encouraged to volunteer with public, private and third sector organisations in order to apply their skills and knowledge in real scenarios.

As well as this, UHI Perth offers a number of scholarships worth £1000 which are available to UHI Perth students for the duration of one year to progress their studies, and to help talented students reach their goals.
