Local people and businesses are invited to have their say on the draft Perth & Kinross Local Economic Action Plan (2025-2030).
VS PKC 053 1

The draft Economic Action Plan has been collaboratively developed by the Perth and Kinross Economic Partnership, which includes Business Gateway, Perthshire Chamber of Commerce, Skills Development Scotland, Perthshire Tourism Partnership, GrowBiz, and other key partners.

In an ever-evolving global economy, it is crucial that the challenges and opportunities impacting our local businesses, workforce, and overall economic landscape are proactively addressed. The action plan offers a roadmap designed to bolster the economic vitality and resilience of our community, with key objectives including:

  • Supporting our local businesses to grow, attract jobs and investment
  • Tackling inequalities
  • Supporting the transition to net zero

The Partnership now invites all residents and stakeholders to comment on the draft action plan. You can download the draft Economic Action Plan now, or click through to the PKC website to go straight to consultation >

A spokesperson for the Partnership commented, "Despite the current challenges facing the global and national economy, we are committed to ensuring that the businesses, workforce, and economy of Perth and Kinross continue to thrive. It is the belief of the group that, together, we can create a dynamic and inclusive economic environment that supports the wellbeing and aspirations of every individual in our community. By collaborating with colleagues, partners, and the public, we know we can help businesses grow, and the area to prosper."

This new action plan will replace the Perth and Kinross Economic Wellbeing Plan (2020-2028) which was approved in March 2021 to address the challenges arising from the economic and social impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.  Since then, there have been several major changes to the economic and social context at a local, national and international level. The new, draft Action Plan sets out the approach that could be taken over the next five years (2025-2030) to grow a stronger, greener, fairer and more sustainable economy for Perth and Kinross.

The plan has been developed through comprehensive research, stakeholder engagement, and a deep understanding of the unique strengths and needs of Perth and Kinross. It outlines the context in which the Partnership is working, and the actions needed to move forward, as it focused on prioritising resources, and supporting conversations around public and private investment in Perth & Kinross.

The spokesperson continued, "There are numerous opportunities in both emerging growth sectors and our traditional industries. Our goal is to make Perth and Kinross the best place to start and grow a business."

The new draft Perth & Kinross Economic Action Plan (2025-2030) will underpin the work being done to achieve economic growth over the next five years.
